The homeowner noticed water pooling around the base of a 12-year-old gas water heater in a garage closet. The tank itself was leaking, so repair was not an option.
We replaced it the same afternoon with a new 50-gallon gas unit, a new flexible gas connector with shut-off, updated vent connector, seismic straps, a drain pan and a thermal expansion tank.
The closet was tight, the old vent connector was corroded and the home had a pressure regulator with no expansion tank.

We brought the right heater on the first trip after confirming size and fuel on the phone.
Old tank drained, removed and recycled, new heater set and lit the same day.
New vent connector and gas connector installed and leak-tested.
A thermal expansion tank now protects the heater and fixtures.
Result: The family had hot water again the same evening. With the new expansion tank and updated venting, the installation meets current code, and the homeowner now flushes the tank yearly to slow scale buildup from hard valley water.
